2026 Women's Super Cup: Hasaacas Ladies beat Jonina in opener
· Lawrence Baidoo
Hasaacas Ladies made a winning start to the 2026 Women's Super Cup following their victory over Jonina Ladies. Veronica Baah Kuma scored the only goal of the game for Raymond Fenny's side as they picked up all three points in their opening game. In what was the first game of the 2026/27 season, the Hasmal Ladies enjoyed a bright start to the game, creating several chances from the start of the game.
However, the opening goal came in the 23rd minute when Vero received a tailor-made pass into her path in the box before finishing off with close control to break the deadlock. The Black Princesses midfielder should have scored two more goals but fluffed her decision-making in the final third of the pitch, keeping the score at 1-0.
Goalkeeper Barichisu Azaare made some good saves to keep the Hasmal Ladies' lead intact as they went on to see out the game. Hasaacas Ladies will now turn their attention to the next game, which is on Friday, September 25, against Fosu Royal Ladies.
